Available online and at Michaels, about $12 Water brush. This one is a Pentel, and they come in small, medium and large. The barrel is filled with water, so no need for a water container when traveling. Stevie only uses these occasionally. She prefers regular brushes.
Micron felt tip pens, permanent ink. Stevie uses these. Excellent sketch pens.
VANISH -- A very good white eraser. Available at Jerry's Artarama or on Amazon. About $6.
A surface to paint on: This could be a clipboard or a watercolor board. Stevie uses a lightweight piece of Plastic Corrugated Board by Creatology™ sold at Michaels for $5. It is sold in a 20x30 sheet and is easily cut with a craft knife. Stevie makes six 10x10 boards with one sheet.

Winsor & Newton travel palettes. One holds 14 colors, and the other holds 12. A really good choice. The smaller one is sold with Cotman watercolor pan paints (student grade, but still good paint). It can be purchase online or at Michaels for about $30, but wait for a coupon to save! It's a good set of colors. The ones above are filled with Stevie's own tube colors.
The worst watercolor palette to buy. Will it work? Yes, but the colors are not highly pigmented and they fade. About $6.
Stevie's palette: Mijello 18-well palette with waterproof seal. Empty palette available on Amazon for about $12. Stevie puts her own tube colors in the wells. She uses Winsor & Newton and Daniel Smith paints.
Stevie's sketch bag -- available at Michaels for $5. Don't forget to include a water container! Stevie puts two little plastic sour cream containers in her sketch bag.

Princeton Velvetouch or Heritage Watercolor Brushes -- very good brushes!
Synthetic hair. Don't buy Princeton Neptune brushes for sketching-- they are too soft. You can buy a set of Princeton brushes, or individually -- about $10 each. Sakura Jelly Roll Moonlight pens -- really fun to have for accents in your sketches. About $10 for a set of several colors.
Necessities for covering mistakes: Signo Broad White Pen and White Posca Pen fine point. Available online and at Michaels.
A necessity: small towel. This is a 12x12 micro-fiber towel folded in thirds.
Another necessity: paper towels. These are Bounty half-sheets cut in half again. Handy for your sketch kit.
